2013 has been a topsy turvy roly poly exciting time for me. I survived university and got a good degree out of it, and since then I have been setting up my own business. I can imagine that will take up all of 2014 for me as well!
So, for my new years resolution…
Make more lovely glass!
And blog more!
I feel more confident about what I am doing than before, and I have built up a head of steam recently with my beadmaking. Stay tuned and I will blog lots of different things as I put them up for sale.
This summer I had the great opportunity to exhibit at New Designers in London. There is an online showcase of 16 glass student’s work now on the Contemporary Glass Society’s website: http://www.cgs.org.uk/exhibitions/highlights-new-designers-2013-london-student-exhibition
I found this by shamelessly googling myself. I suppose this means that lots of people will get to see a picture of my work, which is a nice bit of extra exposure and publicity. It also means there are people out there who like my glass!
I think that the photograph itself shows my glass off quite well (I didn’t take it!), I need to practice photographing my own work I think.
I have been a busy bee making lots of glass recently, stay tuned because I will be blogging pictures of it soon and putting some up for sale.
After setting up my work for my degree show last week I have been selected for New Designers, a graduate show showcases over 3000 students. Only 15 students from my course were selected and it’s a huge privilege to be able to go. I will be showing a body of work taken from my whole collection of samples (which will be great fun transporting as they are so fragile and delicate).
There are two parts to New Designers, and I will be in part one from the 26th – 29th of June, at the Business Design Centre.
